IS YOUR BUILDING REQUIRED TO HAVE A FIRE SAFETY CERTIFICATE (FSC)?
Delhi Fire Service has issued a Public Notice reminding owners and occupiers of buildings covered under the Delhi Fire Service Act to obtain a valid Fire Safety Certificate (FSC).
FSC IS MANDATORY FOR:
Residential Buildings
• Height above 15 meters, or
• 5 or more storeys
Hotels & Guest Houses
• Height above 12 meters, or
• 4 or more storeys
Educational Buildings
• Height above 9 meters, or
• 3 or more storeys
Institutional Buildings
• Height above 9 meters, or
• 3 or more storeys
All Assembly Buildings
Business Buildings
• Height above 15 meters, or
• 5 or more storeys
Mercantile Buildings
• Height above 9 meters, or
• 3 or more storeys
Industrial Buildings
• Covered area above 250 sq. m.
Storage Buildings
• Covered area above 250 sq. m.
Hazardous Buildings
• Covered area above 100 sq. m.
Underground Structures
• Two or more levels
VALIDITY OF FSC
Residential Buildings: 5 Years
Non-Residential Buildings: 3 Years
IMPORTANT
If your building falls under the above categories and does not have a valid FSC, apply immediately through the Delhi Fire Service portal or contact the concerned DFS office.
