DETAILED SPECIFICATION (CPWD STYLE)
- Materials: Mild steel box type hollow section for frame and shutters; glazed shutter with sash bar; gauged shutter without sash bar; 3 mm thick plain/figured glass; stainless steel wire cloth (0.36 mm dia wire, 1.18 mm average aperture); 10 mm square bar MS grill; hinges, tower bolts, handles; red oxide primer, synthetic enamel paint; tarred MS hold fasts and PCC bed blocks.
- Fabrication: Windows/ventilators shall be factory made, properly welded, finished smooth, true to size and free from distortion. Shutters shall open and close smoothly.
- Fixing: Frames shall be fixed with tarred hold fasts embedded in PCC bed blocks. Glass and wire mesh shall be fixed with stainless steel wire staples. Installation shall be plumb, level and true.
- Painting: One coat of red oxide primer and two coats of synthetic enamel paint of approved shade shall be applied, giving a smooth and uniform finish.
- Dismantling: Existing unserviceable/spoiled wooden or steel windows/ventilators shall be carefully dismantled and debris removed as directed by Engineer-in-Charge.
- Drawings: Work shall be carried out as per Drawing No. CEPZ/C-TD/032/13, Sheet No. 1/2 & 2/2.
- Measurement: Measurement shall be taken in square metres of clear opening. Rate includes cost of materials, labour, fittings, painting, dismantling and all incidental works.
- Completion: Item shall be complete in all respects to the satisfaction of Engineer-in-Charge.
